Next, I create a new separate AdWords ad and pointed the traffic to that quiz. I invested the research, time and money to open up a franchise in the espresso coffee business. One year later after little guidance from the franchise company, I had to reverse course. The manfacturing company who built by espresso cart supposedly according to Ca. code, I found out that the Health Dept. said wee had a rule change in the requirements this last summer and they said I should have had plans, blue prints, drawings, etc. submitted to the health dept. before a location which took about a year to find. After I got all the permits (except health) dept. they said they could not pass this cart. I created my own training manual, etc. and for the last 5 months I've been trying to get them to re sell it to their nationawide chain. No support here, so I am calling most of the existing owners about the discounted opportunity that will expand their sales. I tols them do research on compliances first. Hi I dont know if its too late, but i'll say it anyway. I have been looking for direction, balance and strength in order to achieve my goals; but have constantly hit a brick wall. But watching your videos thaught me how to sort out the core of all and any situation and that is 'yourself'. I begun to follow your daily health tips start after watching your videos and i'm feeling great already. I now see the light at the end of the tunnel and somehow the big picture is so clear. I have the energy to look after my three children and juggle my taking care of my, unfortunatley not so well child and work. Though this is late I'm sharing it anyways...The thing that I got most out of your training with Altitude is the importance of speed of implementation - Being on the road at conferences for most of 2007 and transitioning from a GREAT offline business to an online one, my partner and I were producing teleseminar content like crazy. But, because we were on the road, we'd not outsourced the building of infrastructure yet, so it was generating leads, but we weren't making cash on the teleseminar recordings/transcripts/action guides. A genius idea is one that makes money NOW not tomorrow...so the solution was easy - sell it to the offline customers during appointments... Results in 90 days - 65K. Not bad for not having a squeeze page up yet. PLUS, we got to use this in a case study for another course we are teaching locally as to what's possible when you're making the transition from a bricks and mortar business, to an online model... And yes - we just hired our webmaster yesterday...one that works with several high profile gurus... Why re-invent the wheel? Danny

Eben, The first email I received for the GM program I thought here we go again another hyped up Internet maketing product which over promises and under-delivers. The times I've been lead down the path to the field of broken promises, on my dime, I can't count! I am running out of fingers and toes to keep track of them. And I can tell you I don't want to reach 21. Some appendages should just not be used for such things. Not wanna go there! I can't tell you the stress and aggravation that I've experienced when the lessons I learn are great but there is no or little instruction on how to carry them out, which slashes their value to almost nil. I know you hold implementation high on the ladder of character traits of successful people. Makes sense. So I must commend you on the lessons placed on GMblog so far. They're clear concise and well considered, without a doubt you know your stuff... that's probably no revelation to you. Not to sound like a sycophant but kudos to you. You like speed of implementation. So it comes as no surprise really that you teach in a way that's easy to implement. You've inspired me to get things done that I've had no idea how to do or that I even needed to do them. So this is what I've done so far. I've not completed everything yet, but I'll get there. From the video on time management or as Steve Covey says "managing myself" 1.Get up earlier. 2.Water to start the day (sometimes with organic wheat grass powder) and a healthy first meal. 3.Exercise and I've made a chart keep a record of what I've done. 4.Meditation for 15-20minutes. Breathing is very cool and I know that sounds corny but it is. 5.I'm listening to my ultradian rhythms. No more coffee. Ouch that was a tough one, but I'm seeing the benefits already. 6.After that Reading something that will will help my business. (Currently the E-myth) 7.Working in focused blocks of time. With clear focus and no friction. It's tax time here in Australia and I worked on that with my wife and we accomplished more in a day than we had in the previous two weeks! That's no word of a lie either. From the video on psychic sales letters. 8. My wife and I realized we need to know what's going on in our prospects heads. So we emailed some of them a questionnaire and got back some amazing feedback that we are using to create a psychic sales letter. (Please read that line with a raised eyebrow and Halloween music in your head to give it an eerie enigmatic sound) 9.Much of what I intend to do online is related to teaching through video and after watching yours I studied and took note of what you did. I took a close look at how you keep your videos engaging, how you used lighting, and how often you changed the shot. 10. I set up hosting for my domain name. 11. Got a paypal account which would take subscriptions. (This was one of the simplest and most powerful bits from your video for me) 12.I set up a home studio to make videos. (Bought some cheap lighting, fabric for a back drop, microphone for my camera, and put in place and took some test video) There may have been some other things too. But that's all I can recall. There are still gapping holes in my knowledge. Sometimes I know what to do (Thanks in part to you) and do it. Other times I know what to do and have no idea how to do it. Well done on a really fantastic set of teaching videos. I only came across your information 5 days ago and have been listening learning and implementing your information as fast as possible. What I am really thrilled about is your teaching technique and how you seem to be able to fill in the gaps of information that have eluded me. At last this whole online information business model is starting to make sense. Im a newbie and have been devouring as much information as possible and yet felt very insecure about joining the dots and rolling out the beginnings of a business. This is what I have implemented. What I have endeavoured to do is listen to each video take notes and then systematically implement as much as I'm technically able to. 1. After listening to the videos I realized my vision was far too small and I had not given myself permission to think about the enormous possibilities of creating an Internet empire. I went back to the drawing board and mentally exploded my ideas on vision and goal setting to a place where I know I'm really going to have to stretch my universe. The excitement of the possibilities are far more driving than they have ever been and more likely to keep me in the zone to move forward and upward. I am very determined to succeed. 2. I then went over to www.doubleyourdating.com to see what I could glean from the site. Wow it had an amazing system all of its own and it was a step-by-step blueprint of a landing page for me to copy. The copy page was amazing which progressed into the best sales letter I have ever read. It certainly had me wanting to read the book until I reminded myself I was happily married and "kiss proofed" . I book marked the site immediately for further reference. I don't believe in re-inventing the wheel so I will copy the frameworks to hang my own information on. 3. I certainly took huge notes on the pillars and affiliate ideas and have already put some of the actions into place. I have started setting up a newsletter with Constant contact looked into Aweber and Get Response to build my data base Just not sure which one to go with yet waiting to get more info. 4. I have book-marked almost 30 sites I will be approaching for the purpose of JV's or to link to or advertise with. I also have the idea I might submit articles if they need information with back links to my site. 5. I have outlined free products I am going to create to bring about conversions. I'm looking at building a series of audio and teleclass products, as I don't have the skill to video just yet. As a newbie just getting to this stage is huge. 6. Really getting the handle on relationship building and how I can be seen to be giving, helping and growing my customers life satisfaction. 7. I have written an e-book (that is all I had done prior to these videos) Im now working on how to split one e-book into several information products to collate my customer pillars. 8. I'm now using the 3 phase model to structure my business...(No point in reinventing the wheel) 9. I'm trying to get my head around pay per click right now. I really don't know a lot about this so I will have to learn what to do. 10. I am looking at Pay Pal and Clickbank to see where I might host my book and how people can pay me. 11. Getting my head around affiliate marketing and deciding on a price point for my book, which includes an affiliate. I am definitely going to develop an affiliate audio product, which will pay 100% affiliate fee to help with my conversions. 12. Researching Elance and rent - a coder so I can outsource to keep my business time focused. 13. I have made a couple of audio's which I will use as a hook to get women to join my teleclass I have written a 7 step email campaign which will help me market my coaching mentoring classes 14.I am writing articles to submit to sites and article submission sites. I downloaded the software you gave us.....thank you sooo much for this. I had something in mind for a program like this but thought I would have to get someone to help me build the software. I have purchased right to resell a large qty of ebooks. I have determined my first niche - cooking, and am now working on creating my first freebee to catch attention. I have enough books to create a subscription plan for book of the month, with a newsletter including tips and info for that months ebook and comments and tips from the previous month and a blog for community development.

Hello Eben and thank you for this amazing opportunity. I am a relative newcomer to internet marketing -- definitely in Phase 1 of my business cycle. I have no real experience building sites, writing e-books or marketing products on the Internet. But I want to learn and build a profitable business FAST. As a single dad, I needed INCOME, and I've always been inteested in the internet and e-commerce... In the past few months, I have immersed myself in A LOT of information, and I have heard your name as one of the true experts in the field. I have gotten more out of these free videos than in many of the paid programs I've invested in, and your systematic approach has already helped me analyze where my business is and what I need to do to take it to complete Phase 1 and start making my first sale. I decided to create niche websites in a few different target areas -- photography equipment reviews (taking my 20 years of experience), diet & exercise for men, and a couple of sites focused around my daughters' interests that I hope we can work on together as a father-daughter project. I didn't know how to code, how to design a site, put it on a server or write an e-book. However, in the past 30 days, -- I downloaded a trial copy of Dreamweaver to create HTML sites as well as templates so that I could update my sites easily -- learned how to create Wordpress blogs and went live with a couple of those -- learned how to host my own sites on my own virtual dedicated server (thereby saving myself a ton of money in hosting fees) -- learned cPanel -- taught myself how to install a MySQL database -- wrote some basic articles for my sites and uploaded those -- joined Adsense and created ads for each of my sites -- created an Amazon Associates account and populated one site with that -- joined Clickbank and found some affiliate products to market for the men's site -- joined all the major affiliate marketing programs -- contacted a leading vendor in the photography industry who has their own affiliate program and got on board with them -- started studying Ken McCarthy's copywriting program so that I can create landing pages and sales copy for my products -- started writing the first draft of my first e-book product, about 75% complete -- and a million other tiny things! LOL I am proud of what I've accomplished in the past 30 days, but I realize I'm probably working way too hard and not doing the few things over & over & over that I NEED to be doing to make A LIVING. Honestly, I can't afford your mentoring program. But I hope you review my situation -- I absolutely must make this work, and I will do whatever it takes to succeed in my online business. WHERE I WAS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CHALLENGE: 1) I recently woke up a small newsletter list and want to rebuild my relationship with them. 2) I've done some affiliate marketing, but have mostly given information away through my blog and newsletter, enjoying the luxury of writing whatever I feel moved to. 3) I have an information "giveness," which I want to turn into an information BUSINESS! 4) I've wanted to create my own infoproduct for awhile, but have gotten stuck in idea overload (I have a million of them) and overwhelm (trying to juggle so many things at once that my time, focus, and energy get scattered, decreasing my effectiveness). 5) My time management has been haphazard. WHICH OF YOUR TEACHINGS I CHOSE TO APPLY: 1) I found my "why," made it specific and real, and kept it constantly in front of me (literally--I placed cards with my "why" on them all over the house). 2) I took your naming advice to heart, and brainstormed a more compelling product title. 3) I used your 60/60/30 time management strategy to help me focus on laying the foundation for MY FIRST infoproduct . 4) With the contest lasting only a few days, I knew I wouldn't have time to coach 100 people to find out what my market wants and needs, as you suggested, so I created an "ask campaign" asking my readers to share their biggest question, challenge, or concern related to three specific aspects of writing and creativity. THE SUCCESSES I'VE HAD WITH YOUR STRATEGIES: TITLE. My original product title was "Making Peace With the Writing Process. The new title is: "Unleash Your Writing Genius." PRODUCTIVITY: Your 60/60/30 formula is absolutely amazing! One day, I worked from 7 am. to 10 pm. not only completing my survey and newsletter (I didn't want to ask my list to do something for me without giving them plenty of value in return both before [the newsletter] and after [offering the product for free to the first 5 who responded, as well as for the most compelling questions submitted]), but felt relaxed and well rested throughout the day. It also helped me to Focus and Finish more easily!! I discovered how much fun it is to stretch, to be excited by a deadline instead of dreading it, to get creative and try some off the wall avenues of connection, to see what I can do in 24 hours if I really stay focused and moving forward with action. On Twitter.com the posts go by so quickly that I decided to have a 24 hour countdown, which would give me a reason to post a new "tweet" every hour. "23 hours to go..." "22 hours to go..." It was fun. I posted a reply to an article on Mercola.com, which is not a writing market, but I weaved my writing and work life (with ask campaign link) into the substance of the response I gave, and thousands of people have read that article since I responded. I also wrote substantive posts to some groups that I haven't posted to in a while, including a list with 9,000 writers on it. I received 7 questions on the first day, and 31 in the last 24 hours (and I'm hoping more responses will come in the next couple of days). Quite frankly, this lets me know I need to strengthen my "offer," but it was a good beginning and there were several things I didn't have time to do, such as posting on forums, that will be well served by what I've learned. Besides the practicalities of what it takes to get market feedback, the responses themselves were a revelation. One of the reasons I haven't got my own product, yet, is that I keep second guessing myself about what should go in it. After reading the responses, I realized that they helped me in several ways. They helped me to pinpoint not only the most common problems, but the most pressing problems. This will definitely help me narrow my focus. And on top of that, these questions brought up things that I never would have thought of on my own. This actually makes me feel much more relaxed, because I realize that I don't have to cover every possible scenario, I only have to cover what I know and what my market tells me. Dear Eban, I have a new visual training method that utilizes mindmaps for passing the Life Insurance exam. It is the beginning of a new series of financial services publications that will include the Series 6, 63, 24, etc. Last month I started the marketing and have been helped immensely by your video that about the newsletter recommendations. Last night I made a presentation to a brokerage firm that just loved the book. So many of their people have trouble passing the exam they look forward to getting the new product out to everyone who needs it nationally. At the end of the event the owner of the firm came up asking me for all the flyers I had which was an incredible complement. I sold three books last night, which doesn't sound like a lot, but the implications to such support from a very tight networked national company, is fantastic. I'm always multi-tasking trying to run my 6-figure business and take advantage of all the great information available to grow my business at the same time! But I'm so busy running it that I don't have a lot of time to spend watching videos. My business still requires long hours and can be overwhelming at times. Hello Eban Congratulations on moving the bar once again, I cant help but think that some of your fellow infopreneurs have got to be a little miffed. I think it's great in a way I see you as an inovator / crussader who's actions make other marketers either deliver or get out of the way and a voice for all the people who have tried and are sick of being promised a lot and under delivered. I know, I was one of those so much so that I unsubscribed from everything and only recently started back onto the marketing scene, and so I have to confess that I didn't even use my primary e-mail and name because I didn't know who you were. But here I am a Eban Pagan hardcore fan and as one of Bill Phillips contest winners said to Bill your bad ass". diddo" Well enough about that and what I hope will be a decideing factor in your selection process. If I was to point out one of the biggest lessons - points it would have to be that I see the larger picture a clear road map. And probably most important somebody who not only has done it but is willing to share his success with others. Finally transparancey on the internet, and I dont think it's just for the money, a great legacy. Eben, I had the great fortune to meet you at Frank's Mass Control in San Diego last month. As you were waiting for your car, I was brave enough to come up to you and point out what you were saying up there at Kern's conference really struck a chord with me. I mentioned that I was working in healthcare an that for some reason it is not the best place to work in, much like education, healthcare needs a serious overhaul. (Talk about 2 markets ripe for opportunity.) As you got in to your car, you shook my hand asked my name and gave this little piece of advice: "Stars, Julian find Stars." Then you drove off into the San Diego night. I have yet to make a single cent from any of the advice you have given us so far. But the more and more I watch what you are covering in your pre-launch the more I see that to you this is not about making money. Its about something bigger than money, its about how each of us has the potential to be a "STAR", some like myself need more polishing than others, but you have planted a seed, and it is up to each of us to learn to water and nurture this seed and allow it to blossom into the type of person that others enjoy working with and getting to know personally. I have yet to find any stars, and the reason is, If I am to find stars, I need to first be a star myself. I need to learn and identify the skills in others in order to eventually spot, interview and retain quality stars. At any rate I want to thank you for planting what I like to call, or maybe I stole this from you or Frank, "The Seeds of Domination". The seeds being: 1. Always Take Action: even if the results are not what you desired, there is always a lesson to be learned from any venture. 2. So far Eban, I have found your materials to be very useful in moving my information marketing business to fruition. I found your Blueprint for Successful Information business particularly useful. I have been in the health and wellness industry now for over 20 years working with physicians to provide corrective/post-rehabilitative programs and therapies for their patients. My long-term goal is to work towards promoting preventative wellness within the medical industry. My business does this through educational programs for physicians and their patients, and to corporations. I have long had an interest in the information product business and have just written 61 pages of my eBook which will be ready for publication within 3 weeks. This eBook will be marketed with a set of DVDs and CDs discussing proper nutrition and exercise and will be marketed through physicians, their websites, as well as through my business website. Steve Searight Guru Mastermind Scholarship Request I am a marketing major at Mesa Community College (with plans to transfer to Arizona State University). My professional goal has always been to be an entrepreneur and own my own business. At age 23, I have already held a number of successful sales positions. I am currently employed by Integra Telecom while working on my degree. Recently, my father approached me to ask for help with some sales and marketing for an information product he has developed. He teaches an eight week online class in his field and offers the class from his website. His current website is primarily set up as an informational site, not an e-commerce site. My Father is interested in creating wider visibility and increasing sales through the internet. I became a little worried at the fact that I didn't know much about marketing. I was intrigued by the possibilities and began researching how other people we're doing this type of thing on the internet. In the process of exploring e-marketing and sales, I came upon the "Guru Mastermind" program. As a result of my research and seeking to apply the principles presented by Eben Pagan, I suggested my Father do the following things to get started with his goal: All of the following concepts and techniques I used for this marketing campaign are concepts and techniques that I learned from the Guru Mastermind video series and had no prior marketing experience. First, a well known professional in my father's field had asked him to participate in an online interview about the content of his class. I suggested to my Father that he make a "Frontend" offer (I learned from your video) of an mp3 download to anyone listening to the interview for $14.95. He promoted this as a $49.95 value (The Offer). The goal was to both harvest high quality leads and use the mp3 offer to "up sale" the class ($150 Backend Offer). I found resources to help my Father record the mp3 and then tracked down software to enable him to post a signup page on his website. This page linked to PayPal and allowed customers to purchase and download the mp3. All email responses were copied by hand into constant contact. I realize that the next important step is to implement an automated way to record these contacts. We didn't have a lot of time so we went with the simplest method in a pinch. After listeners contacted my father requesting the link to the download he sent them an email (again manually, rather than automated) with the link to the $14.95 download. The email also made them an "up sale offer" as well as later making them a "Backend Offer". The offer stated that anyone who signed up for his online class (information about the class was included, along with benefits and testimonials) by a specified date, would receive the mp3 download for free (Frontend Offer). Here is the result of the campaign: • Over 200 people contacted my Father seeking information about the download. • Another 450 people have signed up for his online newsletter at Constant Contact since the interview. • To date (just a couple of weeks since the interview was posted online), over 50% of the contacts have purchased the download. "The Frontend Technique" • The number of people accepting the offer of the free download with class registration resulted in $1,600.00 of additional class revenue. "The Backend Technique" • My Father is in the process of developing a CD series and an eBook that he will market to these and other high quality leads. "The Backend Technique" My Father is now sold on the benefits of developing an e-marketing presence. He has asked me to take charge of making this happen for him. So in a sense, I am going to school on him. Again, the only marketing training I have received as a result of this success is from watching just a few of your video courses!! I have never been so excited. As I stated, I've always wanted to own my own business, but until now, I've always worked for someone else. I see online marketing and sales of information products as the perfect way for me to pursue and attain my goals. Since I started researching this field, it is all I think about. I can't wait to get home form my day job to do more research on the web on how to make all this work. I spent two days over Memorial Day weekend sitting next to the pool with my laptop doing research (what a job!) My goal is to help my Father succeed at online marketing and sales and use what I learn from your courses to build my own consultation company. The more I learn about online marketing and the sale of information products, the more I realize how much I have yet to learn. I want to take the most direct route to success.
