I was having great difficulty choosing a single focus for an online information/advice business. I had a lot of areas in which my wife and I are expert. It boiled down to working with children with developmental problems or something I developed in 1980 called the LAB Profile. We have not completed our long-term research project about our work with the children, so it finally netted down to the LAB Profile. Hi Eben, A little late in watching this - sounds like a great experience. 1) What's the best venue for informational products, e.g. eBay, my own web site, other? 2) How do I come up with a product / information to sell? 3) How do I determine how much to sell it for?? Hard goods takes some marketing testing - pricing it to the market depending on it's cost and what others are charging for the item? I have no idea how to start, since I have no niche, no information to start with. Sometimes I many ideas in my head, in the morning when I get up, or while i'm at work, but then these idea kind of disapears and I forget what was the ideas. when I searcn the net to get ideas I notice that there peaple out there with bigger ideas and better ones, that it seems imppossible for me to ever create something like the ones they've done. I know that the traffic comes if you have great infomation and that the better the information that they can use will create priceless value to the product that was created. I don't have to much knowledge about this. I'm afraid that if I start to do this and then I get some good demand that I won't have enough info to deliver. So I guess that what I would like to learn of the many things, is how can create an information product and how to keep up with the deamand, let be for the clients or the things I would need to keep the informations fresh and new everytime I start to create more. Like where I could go and get the stuff I would need to stay successful.

In the Guru Mastermind program, I would most like to learn how to "close the gap" between my own personal ambitions and my ability to add value to others and be of service to the world. I think when most people try to earn money they get very focused on themselves... the thing is, we all want to be rich... but there's something of a bug in the human programming, and a lot of internal conflict... many people think the way to get money is by "taking people's money". I believe that both the finest and the most profitable way to make money is by adding to the wealth of the world... yet so far in my own world this is still something of a belief as I have not 100% proved it. So I would like to get action steps in not only how I can set out on a real, long term path of "adding value" but also how this model can be replicated and shared in a way that is very real, very practical and gets results that I can pass on.

Today I'm installing the blog for the site which will be the liason area between free valuable content and the membership site. A place for me and my potential new clients to learn. My wife said this morning: "You look really good today". There is no better feeling than completion of something and being proud of it. Now I'm going full steam ahead! Eben, Over the last 10 years I have worked hundreds of clients for one-on-one consultations either in person, by phone, or by email. I have these "contacts" listed in paper file folders or Outlook Contacts. What is the best way to organize these existing customers/prospects into a database or list "system" I can then use to email them and survey their needs, etc.? How to find the right people for your mastermind, people that really want to help you, who are motivated, enspired and determined to this and take it serious. 2. What to do if you're at the beginning, starting from nothing, having just your products ready (eg. eBooks). Hi Eban, We have two business opportunities that I am certain can be promoted online , however we are illiterate concerning use of websites and attracting prospects for our business. One is real estate investment and the other is network marketing. We need help in developing a plan of action for each. Hey Eben ;) I would be interested in: 1. Resources on how to do the basic web development stuff that is common to selling information products online. For example, I was able to use your quiz creator to make a quiz and put in onto my site but I was not able to get it interfaced with my Aweber auto-responder. If I were to use this as a landing page I would need to ask them to enter their name and email 2 times. 2. How to make new friends. I know this doesn't sound especially related to online marketing but I think it is. I spend a lot of time in front of a computer either at work or when I am home from work. I don't have many friends where I currently live and communication with my friends is usually through a computer as well. I don't think this is at all healthy and I get very lonely sometimes. I would love to make a few interesting, evolved friends in my area that I can hang out with in real life but I don't really know how. The friends I currently have are alcoholics and as a result my social life is bar and party centered. I don't mind going to parties once in awhile but I would like to meet "real" friends with similar interests as me to spend my time with. 3. Ofcourse, I would love to learn more about cost-effective lead generation. From what I hear, PPC is going to continue to get more expensive. Thanks Eben, you're my hero.

Hi Eben, Great call last night! I am back to tell you how my results have been from the homework. I have a info product line that is about to be launched this month, so to double check (again) that I am on track for what everyone wants and is looking for I sent out an email to my list asking what they would like to learn in the program. Being a newbee at marketing on the net - I can't wait to see what is taught. I had a brick and mortar store and moved it online with really the same customers I had coming to the store. I am not sure how to advertise properly through the internet and get the traffic. I can't stop gathering info on Internet Gurus and Masterminds - It has intrigued me to say the least and am very hungry for more! Although very confused on what works and what doesn't. The only question I could possibly pose right now would be.... If I new absolutely nothing (I mean nothing!) about the internet how can I make a living - and more using the internet as a sales base? Let's see what you can do for me.

Eben, Where to start... foremost, "hat's off" to you my friend for being a "Giver". It's quite obvious that you have learned - giving of yourself does truly result in blessing being poured upon you in return. It's just the way it works. I have enjoyed (and employed) many of your free tips and seen great results. I can only imagine what you have in store this time around. And here are a few things I'd like to explore: 1) Recently I began promoting (as an affiliate) a product that claims a 75% conversion rate for traffic that I get to their "pitch page". I have checked my stats and seen as high as 500 hits to that page yet experienced NO commissions. I understand that 75% could be a stretch for anybody. Further I understand that (of) the 500 directs, half of those could be mindless traffic and half of those could be shoppers. This would still leave a figure of 125 potential decent buyers. Assuming only a 1% conversion of that should have resulted in well, 1.25% sales. I've seen nothing. So I'm curious what could be going on. I'll be happy to share my url if you'd like to pick it apart and use it for some ideas to share with others so they could avoid the same troubles. Quite frankly, the site is doing great in my google ads and organic searches. I believe it meets a strong need and does it in an attractive way. 2)I'd like to learn a way to pre sale an upcoming eco resort in one our nations most visited National Parks. We've done extensive research and have planning approvals with local officials on the project as well as the land and its use. Needless to say, "Green" is not just cliche. It's right and we have a development plan that features some of the most gorgeous architecture you could ever imagine. I believe (if done properly), we could build a (email) list in a relatively short time that would enable us to communicate to individuals that are truly interested in "ECO SENSITIVE LVING AND VACATIONING". My "WHY" would consist of a concerted effort to communicate with those who have "opted in". I'd like to give website updates, feeder thoughts about the project and the extended good we will be doing beyond, "WHY's" about the place and then at last open the site to take pre-sales. Done properly, I believe the day we open the website for actual sales, we could potentially sale no less than half of the resort homes. You can see the artist renderings on the url I've given in my submission here and realize it's something special. We have programs in place that will take funds from resort reservations and match them to build water resources for countries that have NO water, programs for restoring tree loss in our National Park and much more. The fact is, the resort will be a huge awareness and functioning piece of art.
